Make Everything Sparkle

Will it ever be warm again? Will I ever wear just one layer again? Will I ever wear my flip flops again? These are the questions that plague me as we have missed more days for weather this year than I can count. (Seven, I think?)

Yet snow has a beauty about it. It slows down life, and here in the south, it brings life to a screeching halt. It makes you see the beauty around you. Everything looks new and perfect. I have decided I want to be like snow. I want to make everything around me sparkle and shine.

After being out of school most of this week, that is about all the wisdom I have left. I will leave you with a few pictures of the snow we have had this winter.

  1. Sarah, as you know, I grew up in rural Iowa, and my memories of winter, besides the cold, include sunglasses! Yes, on the fields that stretch for miles, the snow glistened in the sunlight, blindingly! I love your idea to be like snow and make everything shine! “Let your light so shine before men, that they will see your good works, and give glory to your Father in heaven.”

  2. I’ve been asking myself the same questions, Sarah. I told my husband yesterday I’m getting to the end of my rope with being cold! But I so agree about the beauty of snow. I love to look at it from the warmth of my couch and neighboring fireplace ;). Your pictures are great! It looks like you all are having fun and making the most of the joy of snow.
